Wheelchairs & Mobility Equipment

New Partnership: Tetra and Easter Seals Nova Scotia

Easter Seals Nova Scotia has partnered with the Halifax chapter of the Tetra Society of North America to run and promote Tetra’s assistive devices program. Tetra recruits skilled volunteers such as technologists, technicians, engineers, and tradespeople to create customized assistive devices for Nova Scotians with disabilities. Learn more.

Wheelchairs 

In partnership with the Nova Scotia Department of Community Services, clients of Community Services younger than 65 (and who meet program criteria) may obtain a wheelchair based on a medical prescription from a health care professional.

Assistive Devices

We also help applicants acquire a wide variety of equipment including wheelchairs and seating inserts, walkers, home safety equipment, communication devices for children, and various orthotic/orthopaedic devices.

Equipment Repairs

If you are a client of the Nova Scotia Department of Community Services and need repairs to your wheelchair, you’re eligible to apply to our Equipment Repair program.

Refurbished Equipment

We accept and receive donated wheelchairs and other mobility equipment which can be updated, refurbished or repurposed for others’ use. Let us know if you have some equipment you’d like to donate, or if you could benefit from this program.
