Disability Awareness is Essential for All

At Easter Seals Nova Scotia, we believe that inclusion begins with understanding. The I Can Too ® Disability Awareness Program is a presentation that invites children to think differently about what it means to live with a disability and to recognize the strength, talents and abilities of all people.

By sharing real stories, interactive activities, and having meaningful conversations, the program shows that individuals with disabilities are fundamentally no different than anyone else — they may simply approach tasks in a different way.

The I Can Too® presentation is an interactive awareness program that:

  • Help children develop empathy, respect, and appreciation for people of all abilities.
  • Uses storytelling, real-life examples, and lived experience to deepen understanding.
  • Challenges misconceptions, showing that disability does not define a person’s potential.
  • Encourages inclusive behaviours that children carry into their families and communities.

This presentation is free and available to scouting groups, guiding organizations, after-school programs, daycares and community groups.
